Our number one priority is simple: to provide you with the best product possible. Our space is built around the belief that the environment you work in has considerable influence on the work you produce. As a result we’ve designed a studio with an eclectic and loose atmosphere in an effort to optimize the flow of creativity at all times. This helps to ensure your sessions are smooth, enjoyable, and effective experiences.
We don a wide-open recording style, adapting it to best fit the music you create. We know that building a song in the studio is capricious by nature so we try to be ready for anything. As a result we like to keep the tape rolling, recording everything, and capturing any spontaneous moments that might later have some value. At the same time, while we enjoy the features modern recording allows we make an effort not to rely on them to create great tracks. For example, the cliché practice of “fixing it in post” is something that we try very hard to avoid as we focus on great performances. We believe that a great performance is the single most important aspect in the making of a great record. To achieve this, it is imperative that our clients come prepared. To help us prepare, we ask that you provide musical examples to illustrate your vision of what the finished product should sound like. Also, in order to aide us in getting to know your music, we request you supply us with any previous demos/albums as well. It goes without saying this is all in an effort to create a positive vibe for all of us to work in and make the experience as prolific and memorable as possible. After all, we’re all here to make great albums, right?
If Acumen ran NHL games, we too would hold games outdoors with 75,000 people.
